Too many voices of Russia

The Voice of Russia is the Russian government’s international radio broadcasting service established  in 1991.It is the successor of Radio Moscow, which started its broadcasting in 1922, regularly adding new foreign versions: English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Arabic, and eventually broadcasting in 70 different languages including African dialects like  Amharic, Swahiliand Hausa Today the Voice of Russia is accessible on FaceBook, in English French  and more.  However, by monitoring their news feed, we came to notice that different languages also mean different versions of the same stories. To illustrate our findings,  here is a live example extracted from this morning’s Facebook news feed about the quickly evolving situation in Syria.:

"The Syrian government troops have never used chemical weapons. We have sent evidence to the  UN inspection " said Mr. Mikdad, before entering the UN officials office.  The diplomat also said that: " The United States, Britain and France had helped the terrorists to use chemical weapons in Syria, and soon the same terrorists would use these chemical weapons against the people of Europe”.

At the exact same time Voice of Russia America,  posted reports of the crisis in Syria, with a very different point of view. A visit to their website shows no trace of article reporting "proof" of innocence, brought up by the Syrian authorities.
